JC's confinement at PCMC

We were at PCMC last week September 14 because we talked to the pediatric dentist about JC's dental rehabilitation. We were given a form considered as clearance to have the process done. We have to be sure that JC's protime, platelet, etc are okay. So we had the blood chem on Tuesday. Sept. 15 and got the results the next day. We were not able to scrutinize the blood chem results for we had to bring our only daughter Julia to the hospital. Julia had dengue (stage 1). JC then had fever 40.2 on Thursday together with Julia. They had the same temperature. We suspected that JC had also dengue. Julia was treated by Dr. Yniguez at Meycauyan Bulacan's clinic and was okay early Friday. Then we brought JC to PCMC for admission and was surprised that JC's platelet count went down from 170 to 49. He also had nose bleeding Thursday. No available rooms at PCMC on Friday and we patiently waited for one day. Fortunately, JC was admitted the next day after a long day of waiting...due to cholangitis. He had blood transfusion twice, had fever for two days and had nose bleeding for three days. He had to be given a lot of antibiotics. But the sad news is that the platelet count fluctuated from 49 to 65 then 36 now. We were told that that it is a little normal for biliary atresia babies because they are immuno-compromised, we need to guard a lot of things. His gastro also told us to bring JC to Taiwan soon and have the dental rehabilitation there. It might lead to complications if we will be pushing through with that procedure as JC's blood condition at this point is not good. But JC seems okay at this point...still the hyperactive boy & the very jolly one...playing, talking a lot of things, listening to different stories... Hoping that his condition improve more on the next days to come. .....THANKS FOR THE CONCERN & FOR YOUR PRAYERS....

September 23
...JC's birthday and hospital's discharge date

We also would like to say thank you to the Malana family for visiting JC on his birthday.
Catherine Malana also has biliary atresia and also and her family is also raising funds for her liver transplant.

We also would like to say thank you to some of our relatives who prepared food for JC's 6th birthday. We were surprised when we arrived home.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JC. WE'LL GIVE YOU THE MOST PRECIOUS GIFT SOON!
